To help facilitate contactless scoring we will be using the PDGA Digital Scorecard. This is accessed from a webs browser and does NOT require any downloading of apps and also works with limited internet access.
HERE is a Link to the full PDGA page about it with full instructions and videos too .
HERE is a link to the PDF written instruction you can use on your phone at event or print out at home before hand.
Hello! We are three weeks away from one of the funnest tournaments you’ve ever played. After the crazy year we’ve had, adjustments and special considerations had to be made so I wanted to keep you all up to date. In addition to COVID-19 and multiple large fires in the region, the venue changed ownership this summer too.
Had to cut capacity to 60 because we only have access to 30 carts. Therefor we only have 9 spots left as of tonight. I also changed the registration cut-off date one day to Wed, September 23.
We will be doing two people per cart in groups of four. Please let me know if you have special considerations or concerns and we’ll see what we can’t work out.
The course is mostly decided except for probably moving one hole. The course map is mostly done and will be posted as soon as possible. It mostly follows the ball golf course flow and elements. Sand traps will not be OB but all greens and both sides of the fairway are OB on most holes. More course details to come but you can be certain it is going to extremely fun with almost all holes throwing down from an elevated hight. I’m in the process of getting permission from the PDGA for two island holes.
The course will indeed be available for practice on Friday, September 25. You will have to pay the greens/cart fee, but unsure what that will cost at this point. There is a permanent disc golf course being installed that is longer and more difficult on the same Lakota Canyon front nine. I modified this longer course to suit our masters for the tournament. But hopefully the permanent course will be opening soon. More info to come.
In case you missed it I have posted the camping/RV info on the website as well as trying to keep current on the Ace Pool and Extra Fun Events registration lists. I will also post this and all other Players Updates on the website as well.
We will be using the PDGA Digital Scorecard to keep everything contactless as possible. I’m planning for paper scorecards as backup too. Nevertheless I have posted a quick Instructions PDF on the website as well as a link to the PDGA page with full information and how-to videos for the digital scorecard. Please let me know if you feel uncomfortable or are unable to keep scores on your phone during the round. The code is not setup yet but will be emailed closer to the event.

Custom tournament discs have been ordered. Along with this crazy year Dynamic Discs’ stock has changed quite a bit too and I had to change from Classic to Prime discs. The cool thing is that I was able to get Burst discs and minis too which were not originally available. Therefor I have changed the info on the DG Registration page, added burst minis to the players pack to equal the value as expected and am refunding those who purchased discs already by $5.
You can edit your registration at any time until it’s cut off September 23. Just log on to DG Scene and click the registration tab of the Shades of Gray MASTERS event, where you’ll see an Edit button at the top for your registration. This is so you can purchase the lower priced custom tournament stamped discs or enter in the Ace Pool or the Extra Fun events if you didn’t do that when you first registered. I also ordered a few extra Prime Burst EMAC Truth discs in lighter than max weight too and added these to the DG Scene registration page for sale. Please let me know if you have problems or questions.
I’m still looking into the most accessible platform for the virtual Players Meeting(s), Q&A Session and the Award Ceremony a week or so after the event. ICYMI since we’re not gathering at the venue, the 1st place trophies will be mailed out afterwords customized with the winner players name.
Pro cash payouts will be paid through PayPal. So please let me know if you need it sent to a different PayPal email than the one you registered with.
Amateur merchandise payouts will be done through the Dynamic Discs website with special coupon codes. Again, please let me know if you want to use a different PayPal email than the one you used to register.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I’ll post a date for the players meeting very soon and send an email with that info too.
Thanks a lot,
Matt James
